Valley of Hope Combined Creches Network

A network of six crèches (representing over 500 preschool children) has been established within the disadvantaged communities of Marsel, Ekupumleni and Klipfontein, in the Ndlambe region of the Eastern Cape. Of the six preschools, 3 in Marsel and 1 in Ekupumleni have Grade R classes (age 5-6), with teachers qualified to teach Grade R.  Grade R is officially the responsibility of the Department of Education, and negotiations are presently in place for the Grade R teachers to be paid by the Department of Education.
